Barbara Homiak Garro's Artist StatementThe mystery of life in all its forms intrigues
me. Nothing will stop me from painting it. Everything that keeps me alive comes from my passion to understand the mystery that is life.
Non-stop experimenting resulted in a new direction and art style: Abstract
Synchronism, an instinctive, intuitive process.
The Power of the Abstract Synchronism style motivates me to paint a single
image to completion in total captivation. I literally respond to a vision
that streams through my psyche. Time becomes relative. The process
touches rapture.
In sync with the vision, sparkling colors can burst forth or variations of
one color, like the isochromism technique found in "Life." This new style
brings me one step closer to understanding life's mysteries and offering
painted truths for viewers to ponder.
Time and again collectors and viewers tell me that my paintings give them
feelings of peace. That means that my work speaks to them and the dialog
offers relaxation.
Collectors, clients, students and the curious often ask me, "How long did
it take you to paint that?" My answer is always the same, "The time the
image required to become real."
Award-winning artist, Barbara Garro, MA paints in the Abstract
Synchronism style she developed to move her art into the
Twenty-First Century. Abstract Synchronism allows her to communicate
with the spirit of the images in each painting. Colors then emerge
in the painting out of this spiritual conversation.
Barbara Garro, MA, president of Electric Envisions, Inc., won the
popular vote of paintings in the Lower Adirondack Regional Art
Council at its Spring 2003 Member Show for her painting "Irish
Cottage." She also received "Best of Show" in the
watercolor category in The Patriot's Daughter Fall 2002 Juried Art
Show. The international jury of 6 selected Garro's "Yesterday's
Farm."
